Happy First Day of School

We hope you're having a wonderful first day back to school and we can't wait to start gardening and cooking with you all. Make sure to visit the Watkins Market run by New Morning Farm every Wednesday afternoon from 3:30-7:30 on the corner of 13th and E. They'll have an abundance of late summer produce like tomatoes, corn, squash, peaches, plums, green beans, sweet peppers, eggplant, potatoes, mushrooms, herbs and more! If you'd like to get a weekly reminder in your inbox, email watkinsmarket@gmail.com.

Need some back to school snack ideas? Visit our Recipes page. You can download or print any of our delicious, kid-tested and kid-approved recipes! How about some parmesan crackers, applesauce, or granola bars for the lunch box?

It's going to be a GREAT school year! Need proof? Here's our amazing new DC Green School Garden Army intern Jo getting her hands dirty in the Tyler Elementary School garden.
