FRESHFARM's food education program in partnership with DC Public Schools

FoodPrints is an education project of FRESHFARM that integrates gardening, cooking, and nutrition education into the curriculum at partner elementary schools. Watch the FoodPrints video to see our program in action. 


This week Ms. Houghton's Kindergarten class at Peabody  harvested a few leaves of swiss chard, collard greens, and kale from under our row covers. The students worked together to list describing words for the greens. We did observational drawings of the beautiful leaves in our FoodPrints journals and we pressed the leaves into salt dough. The whole class came together to write a diamante poem. We had a blast!
